About AIO

Acta Iuridica Olomucensia (AIO) is a scholarly peer-reviewed legal journal registered in the world interdisciplinary database ERIH PLUS. It has been issued by the Faculty of Law, Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic since 2005. Since 2011 it is also available online. Journal’s aim is to contribute to the increase of professional discourse in the field of legal theory and to offer solution to problematic issues arising from the legal practice. AIO is a multidisciplinary legal journal covering issues from all legal areas and problems of all legal professions. AIO accepts and publishes contributions in Czech, Slovak and English language.

Acta Iuridica has been included in the Czech index of scholarly peer-reviewed journals by the Research and Development Council of the Government of Czech Republic.

AIO is an open access journal which means that all content published on official website of AIO is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, print, search or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.

AIO is published three times a year by Palacký University, Olomouc, Czech Republic, Křížkovského 8.

Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice rules of the AIO are based on the Best practice guidelines for journal editors and Principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing developed by the Committee on publication ethics (COPE).

The aim of editors, who respect the pluralism of opinions, is to create an open space for presentation of the results of scientific researchers regardless of frontiers and particularities of the national legal systems.

General duties and responsibilities of Editors:

• strive to meet the needs of readers and authors;

• constantly improve the journal;

• ensure the quality of the material they publish;

• champion freedom of expression;

• maintain the integrity of the academic record;

• preclude business needs from compromising intellectual standards;

• always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.

General duties and responsibilities of Authors:

• plagiarism in all forms is unacceptable and constitutes unethical publishing behavior;

• the authors guarantee that the proposed article is their own original work;

• the authors warrant that the proposed article has neither been published previously nor is currently being considered for publication elsewhere;

• the authors use properly appropriate citations and/or quotes;

General duties and responsibilities of Reviewers:

• the reviewers should assists the editors in making editorial decisions;

• the reviewers treat all manuscripts as confidential documents;

• reviewer´s qualification correspond with the scientific orientation of the proposed manuscript;

• the revisory works are performed on the volunteer basis;

• the reviewers should submit their reviews within four weeks;

• the reviewers should identify and discover all suspicious remarks of plagiarism;

• the reviews should be elaborated impartially, constructively and should be based on relevant factual arguments.
